Partner Timothy Thornton has become a Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel (ACCC), the preeminent association who represent the interests of insurers and policyholders in disputes arising out of insurance policies. Established in 2012, the ACCC is an invitation-only organization of senior lawyers who have devoted most of their practice to insurance disputes for 15 years or more.
The organization’s Fellows include many of the most prominent members of the insurance law bars of the United States and Canada, as well as Honorary Fellows from academia and the judiciary. The ACCC focuses on educating all sectors involved in the field of insurance law – including the judiciary, legal and insurance professionals, law students and businesses – on cutting edge, emerging, and critical issues such as developing trends in insurance law and bad faith, trial practice and alternative dispute resolution, policy formation and claims handling.
The ACCC’s mission is to advance the creative, ethical and efficient resolution of insurance coverage and extracontractual disputes; to enhance the civility and quality of the practice of insurance law; to provide peer-reviewed scholarship; and to improve the relationships among the members of our profession. “The ACCC is delighted to welcome Timothy Thornton as the latest member to become actively involved in its work,” said Sherilyn Pastor, president of ACCC.
