Marek Kurowski v. Hatton Crane & Rigging, Inc., et al. This lawsuit involved a collision between a passenger vehicle driven by the plaintiff and a truck driven by one of Hatton Crane & Rigging’s employees. The Hatton vehicle rear-ended the plaintiff’s vehicle, which was stopped at a controlled intersection in the City of Napa. The accident caused the Plaintiff serious shoulder and lower back injuries. The Plaintiff sustained a second, similar injury approximately nine months after the collision. Medical expenses for both injuries greatly exceeded the ultimate settlement amount; however, due to complications arising from a very large workers’ compensation lien and from medical apportionment issues arising out of the two accidents and overlapping injuries, a very favorable compromise settlement was reached on behalf of Hatton Crane & Rigging for the amount of $17,500.Please Note: This article is necessarily general in nature and is not a substitute for legal advice with respect to any particular case.
