Timothy Thornton Featured in ABA TIPS Member Spotlight
August 2021
Partner Timothy Thornton was interviewed for the American Bar Association Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section’s Member Spotlight and discussed what he most likes about being a member.
He commented, “The best part of TIPS is the other members. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share, many different backgrounds and experiences, and a keen interest in tort trial and insurance law. I have attended numerous excellent presentations and read many papers that have been useful in my own practice. There is great camaraderie among the members at in-person events, which I am looking forward to resuming again and seeing my friends. I have had the chance to work with TIPS members in litigated matters which has been a great experience—working on solving problems in the real world, not just in the context of a presentation.”
Mr. Thornton has been a member of TIPS since 1983 and actively involved in the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee (ICLC) since 2011. He was chair of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee in 2020-21. He is also involved in the Excess Surplus Lines and Reinsurance Committee and Self Insurers and Risk Managers Committee and serves on the Book Publishing Board and the editorial board of The Brief.
