The new “transportation network company” (TNC) law in California requires that “transportation network companies” such as Uber and Lyft provide $1,000,000 in liability coverage during all times the driver has the ride sharing app turned on, whether the driver is waiting for a summons, going to get a passenger or carrying a passenger. False. The full coverage provided by the TNC insurance policy is not triggered until the driver accepts the ride request. Coverage under the TNC policy continues until the trip ends.
