Nathan Lee Achieves Dismissal for General Contractor in $1.4 Million Fire Loss Dispute
July 2025
A luxury residential home in the San Diego area sustained a fire loss with over $1.4 million in alleged damages. The plaintiff, the homeowner’s insurer, named both the general contractor and subcontractor as defendants. After a detailed review of the case file and project records, Partner Nathan Lee persuaded the plaintiff’s attorney to dismiss all claims against the general contractor in exchange for a waiver of costs. Mr. Lee also convinced the subcontractor to drop its cross-complaint against the general contractor. As a result, the general contractor was dismissed entirely from the lawsuit and paid no money, an optimal outcome for Mr. Lee’s client.
