Timothy Thornton to Discuss “Extra Contractual Insurance Claims” at ABA TIPS 4th Annual Conference

Partner Timothy Thornton is speaking on the panel “Extra Contractual Insurance Claims: Preparing and Responding to Policy Limit and Time Demands” at the 4th Annual American Bar Association Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) conference. The panel will address: policy limit and time limit demands; how insurers respond to these demands and how this can successfully resolve the case or lead to bad faith claim against the insurer; the use of assignments of rights and issues created by the use of these assignments. The panel will further examine the importance of these demands, the problems they create, strategies to respond, and how to communicate with the insurer and the company management. Panelists will also review what information should be shared with the insured when the assignment of rights has not yet taken place. The TIPS conference is taking place May 2-5, 2018 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles.
